I'm going to give everyone here a good laugh at my expense

I have not driven a manual in years so yesterday after taking delivery I was at the light and put the car in nuetral and when the light changed, well you guessed it I got on the gas and was going nowhereand of course the people next to me had a good laugh as well,so feel free to have a good laugh with me at my I got this car to enjoy that feeling once again of driving a stick,I hope I don't make that mistake again, anybody else have that happen to them after driving automatic for so long.

Lol. Driving a stick is like riding a bike. It will come back to you quick. Enjoy the new ride. That's not that bad, stalling is the bad one.

Had a similar story but I wasn't driving the car. I haven't owned a stick for about 20 years and within the 1st week of owning the car I pulled into a parking lot of a store and went inside. While inside I started to think if I put the brake on or put the car into gear and couldn't remember. I was afraid to go outside and see that the car rolled away and been damaged, kind of felt like leaving home and you didn't close the garage. Luckily when I did go back outside the car was fine and the brake was engaged and I had a big sigh of relief. So for all switching back to a stick from an automatic, don't forget about doing this I find myself checking twice before I get out now.

I have since replaced my stock clutch. I actually miss the stock clutch it's nice. Best advice I can give you is , less is more. Factory clutch only needed to be tapped, do not go to the floor with it. Just tap it, say 20 to 30 per cent and be quick. It drives better when your quick, it doesn't like the long slow shifts enjoy

I remember when I had a manual and my wife drove an automatic. One time after I had not driven her car in a few weeks. I was driving down the road and when I came to the stop sign at the end of the street I thought I was putting the clutch in when I hit the brakes and locked them up. About threw her into the windshield...

lol. I remember pulling out of the driveway with my teenage son and his friends, and then stalling it. Now that's embarrassing...

You'll be fine, worse things can happen. Good luck with your new ride.

Stalling is bad. You know what's the worst ..... I'm almost afraid to say it loud ..... A little spirited driving and missing your shift .... Especially if your opponent knows you. .... Wah wah ... Hang your head in shame
