I thought the Camaro LS3 was a dry sump system

When I first bought my car a year ago I looked on the web for information and came across information that said the LS3 had a dry sump oil system. I told people that over time. But last night I found a site that said only the Corvette LS3 has the dry sump oiling system and not the Camaro. Bummer, wonder why it is not in the Camaro.

The Corvette LS3 is not a dry sump either.

It is the Corvette LS7 in the Z06 that is dry sump.

The dry sump ls3 comes in the grand sport with a manual, it is hand built alongside the ls7 and ls9. In all other corvettes (automatic grand sport and base corvette) you get the same ls3 that is in the camaro and those are not dry sump. Tere was interesting article in GM Performance magazine reviewing the grand sport with a manual and it made around 420 hp to the wheels.

All corvettes are dry sump, it allows the engine to sit lower.

Base LS3 Corvettes are not dry sump setups, that's fact.

Only difference in the LS3 in the Camaro (not Dry sump) and the base Corvette (also, not dry sump) that I know of is the oil pan size. Camaro actually has a larger oil pan and holds more oil. Thats why the Camaro oil change costs more then the Corvette.

Holds a volumetric ton of oil. I was used to my 6er that took 4.3ish quarts. Wasn't expecting an increase to 8 haha
