Forgive me if I've missed something with the 2014 Camaro info, but I did not think we'd see the LT1 in the SS until the 6th gen...

Evidently the 6th gen will produce no more than 450HP. Kind of saw that coming as history does repeat itself more often than not. It's really sad they won't have an LS7 optioned SS. I think I'll be buying one of these engines in the future as it'll be the last of the Mohicans for powerhouse engines I believe. Not to downplay the LT1, but NA 500+ HP engines are on their way out the door. I'm sure the LT1 will be great for the lighter camaro though.

The article, specifically what I quoted, states a "Camaro version" LT1 for 2014 SS. The only other thing I could think it is referring to is the SS sedan... however, I thought that was to be a LS3. Further, I'm not sure why/how the SS sedan would receive a "Camaro version" of the LT1 if the Camaro isn't to even have a LT1

But wouldn't it be logical to assume we would have heard something regarding the 2014 powertrain considering one can order 2014's now?

I would love to be surprised with the LT1 in 1LE as a send off to the 5th gen, with the under the curve power of the LS7 but with a regular (cheaper to build) production line V8 as a step up from the LS3 and bridging the horsepower gap to the Z/28.

Wow! That Z28 is awesome! Its come a long way from the 1991 Z28 I had 17 yrs ago. I sure wish modern muscle cars would give you more of an option on performance and not worry about the luxury options (pw,pl,pm,ac,elec. seats, etc.) so much.
