those with the Gauge package option step in

L99 auto trans guys, what are your gauges reading for engine oil temp and transmission temp

here is what i have found

engine oil temp on the gauge 240*F , actuall scan tool oil temp read from the pcm 194*F

transmission temp on the gauge 190*F, actuall scan tool trans fluid temp read from the TCM 159*F

was hoping these gauges would be a little more accurate,

the gauge pod is only a 3 wire set up, + - and data, so the calibration has to be off in the gauge pod itself

called gm and they will be getting back to me, i suggest others take there car in too if you think the gauges are off,, the more calls gm gets the more likely they are to come out with a fix or re-calibrated gauge pod assy.

Mine read about what yours read - I will have to hook up and read the system directly to see what it says as well compared to what it shows.

hptuners software is the cause of the gauge's being off so much, when flashed with gm factory software the gauges are within 10*f of the scan tool readings,,, much info was sent to hptuners with no answer yet

Sorry if this is a necro thread but I would like to check the actual trans temp on my car and compare it to what my gauges show....

It is tuned but with SCTx4 not Hptuners. I see the OP mentioned using a scan tool does anyone know what that would be or have any suggestions as to how I could do this? I have the SCTX4 unit but I don't know if it can give that type of info to me when plugged in to the car?

Ok thx so the bluetooth adapter just passes the info to the phone I guess? Something like this would suffice? Unless you know of a specific one?
