how to see your average fuel economy in realtime...
Previously, I read somwhere that if on the DIC you went to average fuel economy page and held the "set/clr" button as you drove you would see your fuel economy change in realtime. I tried it and found out you do not have to continue holding the button down, only until it beeps. Then you can release it and see your fuel economy change in realtime.

Thanks I'll try it. So far very happy with fuel MPG's at 23 to 25 combo of country and interstate driving with my 1 SS auto with 3,400 miles on it.

I've done that but it's not telling you anything, just changing numbers. What's the point?

I think what you meant is "instantaneous" MPG not average, thus constantly varying. No?

Im a little disappointed in the features of the DIC so far. The 09 lancer that I just sold had all kind of features on it. To compare with this conversation the lancer had a bar graph that showed the real time gas millage and underneath it your gas millage average and speed. as you pushed the pedal among many other things.

holding the button resets the average fuel economy. Good for when you want to test it at certain speeds. Obviously you don't hold it forever lols.

ah you might think I'm stupid..you watch the numbers count down from like 49mpg 2 tens at a time. wow thats fun and interesting. The only thing you'll get out of that is a rear ender. just reset it and when you want to see what you did you go to it. Your from Fl go to Kennedy and watch the space shuttle count down if you want a safer way to see numbers count down. Now it's my turn to..

And just in case you don't realize it, there are people here who care about saving gas so you should stop posting on this thread if you think its stupid.
