Red dash abl installed

I installed the dash abl and changed the doors to red.
I got the stuff from autoprod. I think it came out pretty good.

Looks great man. I was planning to do this, but kind of scared.

Are you planning to paint the ABL red?

Used the weatherstripping as a shelf. Kind of a pain in the ass but looks good now.

If you mean the dash trim and door inserts, NO, not red. Plan on painting it black.

hm - looks 10x better than mine. i used the dash abl kit from ofer and it doesn't diffuse the light all the way across the long section of the dash. i only get the light in the first few inches on each side :(

What is this "weatherstripping" technique I keep seeing people mention. (but I haven't found the actual post on WHAT it is or HOW it's done).

Even my ABL kit had some weatherstripping in it. (and I'm about to do the dash ABL mod).

I'm assuming that you use some weather stripping in the middle of the dash piece for the long light pipe to sit on so it doesn't sag in the middle?

Correct, but, the weatherstripping is used where needed to keep the pipe at the correct height. We suggest several pieces along the back of the panel.

Did you check the Big DIY Index thread? It's a sticky at the top of the DIY subforum.
