Thumbs up First Camaro on EC-7's!!!

Just got these mounted on Memorial Day!

Specs are : Apex Racing flow-forged 18" x 10" EC-7 wheels +25mm offset. apexraceparts.com
Nitto NT05 tires - 295/45/R18

Couldn't be happier. I'm not the first Camaro to run Apex Wheels - there are a few guys running the ARC-8's, but I'm 99% positive I'm the first guy to run their new EC-7's

Best part is Apex/Nitto wheel/tire combo is 28 lbs lighter compared to my previous set (XXR wheels staggered - 20x8.5 and 20x10 w/ Nitto/ Hankook)

Literally could not have done this wheel/tire set up without the help of forum members Li0nel1234 and SUX2BU. Big shout out to them; they were immensely helpful and kept me from ordering the wrong wheel size. And thanks to David at Apexraceparts.com for answering all my silly questions and supplying me with a great product!!

Enjoy!

I like it. Is your car dropped? I wonder how they would look on stock height?

Car is on BMR lowering springs. Would be the same wheel gap as stock wheels as I kept the overall wheel/tire diameter approx the same (according to 9ball's sticky)

They will clear brembos - Li0nel1234 has the ARC-8's, which have same clearance, and he has Brembos. He has an SS actually.

Did you have to mod the car to get these to fit? I have the ZL1 brakes, do you think they would work with the 6 piston brakes?

First, the thread is 3 years old....

Second, I have 18"x 10" et25 Apex PS7 on my car and yes you need to do one of 2 things to allow them to fit. You can notch the top of the knuckle at the bottom of the strut to clear the wheel as it just barely touches...

OR, In my case with 305/35/18 tires and -2 of camber I had a tire rub issue as well. I opted to install longer wheel studs from a GM truck and a 10mm spacer. I had a 8mm spacer for trial and it worked....but 10mm is more common and cheaper than having customer ones made.

Finally you will need hub centric rings as the Apex wheels are made for BMW. I had to snag this proof from the track last Sunday as I don't have any pics of the car with them on ... Photo credit Walter Cronk

Thanks dropspeed.

Do you think an 18 x 9 would clear without grinding the knuckle or running spacers?

I'm thinking about running 275/40-18 on 18 x 9 Apex wheels.

Also, can you recommend a vendor for hub centric spacers?

If the offset is the same, yes. 1" is 25.4mm so 12.7mm per side less width. But, looking at the Apex site I only see a 9" w/ 31ET (offset) and 9" w/42 offset....

42 is a no go at all......The 9 with 31 offset will bring it out 7mm from the knuckle.....It will be close, but it should not rub. the 275width will not be an issue.

This is just a hobby for me....I would call Apex to verify. I would bet they have sold a 9 with 31 offset for the front of a Camaro

Matt
