Tires

I need rear tires, 275/40/20. Been doing some research (mine still passed inspection so I got some time) but I want to make sure I get the right tire, for me anyway.

Only do summer driving for the most part, don't drive in the rain usually. I do drive in the winter a little bit but only with the roads are dry, never when there is actual snow on the road, or even wet for that matter.

I went to a few places and was recommended....
ToYo Proxes - I was told these were good for my car, rating of 200 so they are softer for handling/traction. $215/ea installed.

Firestone Firehawk - Guy there said the ToYo were crap tires. The Firehawks have rating of 400 so they are harder, wondering about issues there? $250/ea installed but that included some $50 BS road hazzard I won't pay for so it's $225/ea installed. What I did like was their warranty seemed really great, on paper I don't know, have to read the fine print, but he said if they wear in 15K (before 40K warranty) I am pretty much pro rated regardless of the type of vehicle, as long as there isn't evidence of burn outs and such, which I don't do.

Dealer - I have a really nice guy at the dealer and I trust him, he said stick with 200 rating and he recommended these one Bridgestone tires but they don't make them in my size.

Any info/experience/recommendations are greatly appreciated.

Funny, I was just reading about those and a lot of C6 users loving them, only saw a few Camaro5 owner reviews, and a few on this site, but I think those are the tires I am going to get.

I did read that the rim lip protector doesn't fit right on the Camaro RS 20's though?

Are they louder than then stock Perelli's being that they are harder 280vs200?

Rim lip protector? I have them on my fronts and rears and all I can say is I love these tires. For the price to performance they are hard to beat. They aren't as noisy as the Pirellis (been several thousand miles since I last ran Pirellis) as far as I remember. I believe they are harder in the center then get softer on the edges, as far as a number I have no idea.
