Spare tire question for Becky

Hi Becky,
I didn't know who else would know this better than you, so here goes:
I have a 2013 2SS/RS, can I get a spare tire ordered and installed? I asked the dealer when I ordered the car last year and he said no. His answer wasn't really brooding with confidence and I would rather have a spare and a jack as opposed to an inflator kit.
Thank you,
Ivan

No spare tire with the SS. Well OEM spare tire anyway.

Any suggestions that may work? My only fear is that i can have a blowout and nobody will be open to sell me a tire.
Thanks for the help

The Camaro spare tire won't clear the Brembos on the SS. So, no spare tire. The only thing you can do is try to find one that will clear the Brembos and the suspension. The likelihood of it fitting in the well in the trunk will be slim though.

Do a search on SS spare kit. You can buy an adapter which will allow a spare to clear the Brembos. Some of we SS owners have purchased these.

You may have to buy the adapter, spare, jack, etc. separately.

This is the most detailed thread I know of on spare tire kits - don't know the eBay vendors ID though :/

Just get a front SS rim and put it in the trunk for long trips. Put a tire comparable to the rear tire size so you don't mess up the diff running two different tires...front won't matter if the tires are not the same. It may pull a little though.

I have had enough flat tires in my time that a tire sealant & compressor kit does not cut it for me. To have to call onstar or a tow truck for a flat tire is just nuts. I went all out. Bought an OEM polished front 20X8 SS wheel, had a stock Pirelli P Zero front tire mounted on it with the tpms sensor. Got a scissors jack, some wheel chocks, a 22mm socket, 3" extension, breaker bar, and a tire plug kit. I think I am covered. Don't like to think about being stranded for lack of a spare tire. All of this fits in the trunk, tire is strapped to one of the cargo tie downs. Not much room for anything else but when I travel it's just my wife and I and the back seat works great for our stuff.

The compact spare is not optimum, but it will fit in the wheel well in the trunk and not take up extra trunk space.

You guys are great! Never expected to get this much advice on such a request. I'll definitely be doing further research into all options.
Thank you all so much.
