Step 1 - Insurance!
Good news! I called the insurance company today to get a quote on what a 2013 2LT/RS Camaro would be for me (17 year old) and it was actually a pleasant surprise!
With my 2005 Chevrolet Silverado Z71, I add about $156/mo to our insurance... Well I was informed during the short conversation that with my discounts for good grades and OnStar, the camaro would actually be CHEAPER! ![]() The lady over the phone informed me that my insurance would actually go down $6 a month, putting me at $150 a month for a 2013 2LT/RS Camaro. UH-MAY-ZING. How much do you guys pay for insurance? I believe I am getting an awesome deal with that quote, especially since I am only 17... P.S.- I also figured my payments out to be $368/mo.... not too shabby.... Now to decide WHEN I am going to get it... hmmmm

I have been paying $566 a month for the past 8 months.
Now I moved to a different place and my quote dropped down to $400 19 y/o, 1 accident at fault and <1 year driving experience.

Yeah... I went from a car worth $10k to my 2LT and my insurance went down as well. I just don't understand insurance.
I'm 19 and I pay $125 a month for my insurance. When I was 17 I payed $135 a month. ...I was also incredibly surprised. When I found that out about the insurance that is when I knew I was getting a Camaro.

When you get older the insurance is cheaper...2ss/rs for like 60$ full coverage new vehicle replacement.......they figure how safe the car is how powerful and how prone to accidents, or to damage other vehicles, you age is a big one, your driving record, your state you live in and its propensity to have accidents due to weather ,and how far you drive every year and to work and back...(if you have good insurance this matters). I use 21st century....formerly AIG.. nobody has ever beat them while checking rates I have over and over and wasted time doing it. And they even have a internet sign up discount and paperless discount. Good luck
