How Many Times Have You Stalled Your Car?
I know this is a topic that is a sore subject to many people, and it can be very embarrassing. When I first learned to drive stick, I stalled a few more than I care to admit. Also, it is practically inevitable to stall a new car that you are not used to (in my opinion, at least), until you get to know the feel of the car.
Anyways, how many times do you think you have stalled? Also, have you stalled in an intersection, or done anything as embarrassing? Obviously this applies to the M6 crowd only.

I stalled at an intersection yesterday with heavy traffic. It was embarrassing! I haven't since though. You are right, it takes a while to get used to it and a feel for it, no matter how experienced you are.

You are complaining that you wont get your car til July so it will be the last GM product you will ever buy? I've got a better idea, cancel your order now and allow someone who will actually appreciate this experience and all that comes with it to get their car! Sounds like you'd be more suited for a Mustang anyway

I have driving a few stick shift vehicles. Cavalier, S-10, and a 68 Baja bug.
Of all of these the easiest to drive was the baja bug. i have no idea why [Maybe cus its caurborated?] but its simple. I hope my SS will be as easy

I had not driven a manual transmission in ten years. I was afraid. But I have not stalled it once. And the same thing happened with me. When I took delivery the entire dealership and other customers were all watching. I was sweating bullets!!

I haven't gotten my car as I'm waiting on my vert, but everytime I hop in a manual transmission car, the first time or two are either stalls or kinda clunky gear changes, after that it's pretty much fine. I went from a 1991 pickup, driving it for 2 weeks (every other day for about 30 minutes), to a ACR viper for Laguna Seca. That was a very significant change. |

Zero times! Although the girlfriend stalled it the first time she drove it. Funny thing is her car is a 5spd 07 civic. Lol. The clutch did take some getting used to though

Once. Day after I picked it up, with two coworkers in the car. I was at an intersection with a slight incline, determined not to roll, and put in in R instead of 1st. Still didn't roll, but.... arrrrrggghhh! Definitely embarrassing. The guys were cool about it, though, didn't run into the office telling anyone.

Once, 2 days after I picked it up, and yes I had been back to the dealer and stalled it pulling out of the parking spot...
Have driven a stick for years, but the G35 I traded in had a much stiffer clutch. Love this Camaro clutch, smooth and easy. Needless to say I came off of it a bit too quick that one time. Have saved it a few other times...

Yep. Been driving a stick for many years and I stalled it at I think the 4th intersection I came to. No biggie, acted like I meant to do it!
