Random Camaro sighting - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

Drove up from Los Angeles to Portland, Oregon the past two days (stopped to see family and stay the night in San Francisco yesterday) and while going up I-5 through the Grapevine, in the middle of nowhere, I see a RJT Camaro go by on an overpass. Couldn't get the camera out in time to get a picture because we were doing about 85mph and it was crossing us from the east to the west.

Totally random though to see it considering I've only seen one driving in the LA area so far. Thought I'd share it with you guys, thought you might get a kick out of it.

What random places have you seen one?

I saw on pull up to an intersection as my light went green. I wanted to slam the brakes and get some pix, but there was a lot of traffic. I didn't want to get rear ended

Then I saw one in a store parking lot, from the main road while on the way to the bank. I then saw the same Camaro getting on the interstate on ramp. Again, too late to get a picture.

Then as I was driving down the street a few days later and I was behind a Chevy Silverado. All of a sudden, I see a Silver 2LT/RS pull into the turn lane from in front of the Silverado, and pull into the mall. I find the closest mall entrance and pull in. I pull up next to the guy as he's getting out. He's an older gentleman, I'd say 65-ish. I roll down my window and the convo goes sometime like this:

Me- "That car is a work of art"
Him- "Thank you very much, it does look good, doesn't it..."
Me- "Lord yes. You enjoying it?"
Him- "Well, I've only had it for a day, so it's hard to tell. I just traded in my 06 Mustang on it."
Me- "You liking it so far?"
Him- "It's definately more comfortable, and better looking than my old Mustang."
Me- "Really? That's good to hear"
Him- "Much better mileage than that little V8. I'm impressed so far."

He let me take a few pictures with my phone (sorry, can't get pix off of my phone... it doesnt like me), and even let me sit in it. He was a really nice guy.

I saw one at the DMV right after i just got done ordering mine at the dealer ship. i went to the DMV to get one of my other vehicles registered, and there was the beautiful black 2SS.

Soon as I flew to Texas to meet my friend we went straight to the shop so I could see my car for the first time after her surgery. She was sleeping under a blanket but I had to wake her for a second to take a photo with my phone...LOL

Up until a week or two ago I'd only seen one in my town. Now there are like 6 that i see regularly. Black SS, Black V6, CGM SS/RS, VR V6, 2 Yellow SS's 1 with black stripes 1 w/o, and a IOM SS.

I'm seeing them everywhere here in L.A.- so far I've seen the darker blue color(today), yellow, black(not a good color IMO for this ride-it flattens the curves), and silver...

I was on my way to Vacaville last week with my mom and brother and I saw like 7 or 8 Camaros in a little pack. They were all IOM's. I was in the middle on the conversation when I gasped, "HOLY CRAP" lol.

We live in similar areas (I live in Palos Verdes), and I've only seen one Camaro on the road, a Black SS. I've actually seen it twice, driving past Peninsula High School.

Cool! Yeah we do live near each other..I'm in Redondo Beach. We'll have to meet up and start a weekly car get together or something once we both have our Camaros.

Just saw a black 2SS w/RS parked up the street from our house. My husband and son saw is and came to get me. Was surprised the owner didn't come out as the engine on my husband's t-bucket is pretty loud. But I guess you get used to it after a while people gawking away at your vehicle. As long as they are respectful of it I guess no need to come out.

I've had mine for about three weeks now. With the exception of a blue one at work and mine, I havn't seen a single one on the roads. Kinda makes me feel a little more special until they start showing up everywhere.
