Does a tune make a difference on a stock car?
I'm considering buying a DiabloSport inTune I-1000 for my M6 SS. I know that tuners can really help with harder shifts on an auto, but will i notice much difference on my totally stock car?

Tuning can make a world of difference in a stock vehicle. A good tune will really allow you to enjoy your car! It will wake up that engine while still allowing you to get better mileage, if you can keep your foot out of it! Go ahead and do it! You wont regret it!

IMO, better to take it somewhere and have it tuned! Just got back from doing my engine and tranny tune at Lethal Racing! Really big difference in the way it shifts and runs! It's a completely different animal!

From first-hand experience.....yes, you WILL notice the Diablo canned tune on a stock, M6 SS.
93 octane isn't available here, so even with the 91 octane tune the difference was very noticeable to me and a couple friends of mine that had before and after rides (without knowing I tuned it). The manual cars may not have as much torque management as the automatics, but they DO have it. When I used the Diablo Tuner on my '10 SS, it went from feeling like an automatic when it shifted to feeling the way a manual trans car should feel when it shifted

You sure are throwing a lot of warranty away by tuning...loss verses gain....ain't happening here....mines already had extensive warranty work done and I'm sure glad the warranty paid for it....actually I paid for it...the warranty coverage was included in the purchase price of the car

I had the canned tune on my stock 2SS/RS from the Diablosport I1000 and it made a really noticeable difference on just the 91 octane tune. The idle felt smoother, throttle response was quicker, and the power band felt broader/flatter across. I have not tried the 93 octane (which is named "Diablo tune" or something like that in the options), but I would imagine it would be good. For the manual transmission, you can disable 1-4 skipshift top, which is a must. You won't be sorry about this purchase, and some used ones pop up on here with enough frequency that you can save a few bucks, if you are not in a huge hurry and wait for them to come up.
