CAMARO5, my HEARTfelt appreciation! - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

Not sure if this is the right forum, but I have to get this off my chest...

It all started back in October when these cars were available to order, and most of us had thousands of questions....I went to my dealership on 10/13 armed w/ the Camaro5 info, the workbook, ect. Asking if they would sell for MSRP, ect. The agreed, IN writing, and on 10/17 I placed the order for the greatest car in existance

SO...months go by, my dealer is excellent, answers all questions, and calls me with any updates...saved all my paperwork, I have a huge binder full of amazing information and updates, and time is passing on....keeping it short, my car was born on 4/29 and then the real wait begins....

It enters Area-51 and I get to wait 2 more long months for this car, when it left Area-51 I get a PM from Larry w/ my railcar# and begin to track the car. It gets to the rail yard in 3 days from Oshawa, and is delivered on 6/30!

IT ALL begins!!! Not only am I amazingly THRILLED with this new car, I haven't slept all week! I have spent every minute with it!

THEN, today I take it to its first show, I am in a 80-up original class w/ 20 cars in the class! BTW, I won 1st in that class

100's of comments from people, most of the questions were as follows: "How much did you pay for it?" "How fast will it go?" "Did you trade your other Camaros?" "Can I go for a ride?"

EVERYONE could not BELIEVE I paid MSRP w/ no mark up and continued to tell me how all the dealers they had seen had these cars marked up 5-10k over sticker, ect.

Then I had 2 other camaro people there w/ 1LT V6 cars tell me my car was not an RS b/c I had the polished wheel package and their dealers told them the RS package could only get the MS wheels. HA! I had to SHOW them my sticker, and they just didn't want to believe it. Hello, look at the red SS emblems and Halo head lights!!!

NO, I would never trade the most perfect, unreal 4th gen of mine for this car. Pretty sure most of you haven't seen the white/orange 95 I have, but it's breath taking, top to bottom, and I have money to put on that.

It goes as fast as I want it to.

And no you can't go for a ride.

LOL

I want everyone to know that this is the MOST AMAZING site, and if it wasn't for C5.com I would have been screwed, and not had any kind of knowledge on this car. The other 2 w/ their V6 camaros didn't have spoilers, and continued to tell me how they liked the cars without the spoilers better, ect. "roll eyes here" I am also the only one in my area to have a 2SSRS.

Camaro5....everyone here has been awesome, and I couldn't have done any of this without you all. I love having all the answers when these crowds are around, and being able to back it up. It's an amazingly powerful feeling "flexes"

I also have to commend my dealer, GR Chevrolet in Stanleytown VA for being the most excellent...my salesman was unreal, and it would kill you all w/ jealously to know just how good he was to be thru this 9 months...really you couldn't handle knowing

I had to hook him and his wife up w/ a nice gift card to Olive Garden to let them know my thanks.....he really went out of his way for me, and I never got the impression that I ever bothered him.

So C5.com, you guys are the best, I am extremely happy, and we would be in a crap load of trouble of this site didn't exist....

I know I had to wait months, but I am extremely happy I waited, and it was well worth it.....now just trying to get to sleep at night, that is the hardest part.

Congrats !!

Glad you are enjoying your car so much. And yes, the guys that operate/moderate Camaro5 are great.

You also might want to sent a PM to Super 60 thanking him and Team Camaro at Oshawa for building such a fine machine. They really are passionate about what they do and like to hear how you are enjoying your new Camaro.

There are also some of the GM guys that wanted to remain anonymous, but helped greatly with the info that the man, Larry, provided to them. They deserve a big Thank You too...

I'm thrilled that you love your new 2010. Thank You for your patience with regards to the long wait but i'm sure it was well worth it. When people find out i work in the plant i get asked hundreds of questions and i'm more then happy to answer as many as possible. Thats a great story you've wrote and its shows the passion all of you have for your new 21st Century Sportscar.
