Power steering issues..... Help please!
So I recently did a cam install on my 2011 SS/RS m6. After the install I've been having problems with my power steering, changed the fluid, and it worked for a bit. But now it's not working again so I'm thinking I got some air in the system. Does anyone know how to get rid of the air? Or anything else that would be causing thus problem?
Mods please move to the right section. Not sure where it fits in. Thanks

I think you just grab the tire and jerk it back and forth until you work all the bubbles out. How did your power steering get bubbles from a cam install? Seems really unlikely!

I have no idea. It works fine before the install, and now it's broken lol. I even went and got a new pump thinking that it was bad or something and with the new one its still doing it!

Weird. Is it shaking on you or just not working at all? We tried several times to get the bubbles out of my coworker's wrx. It can be a bitch for sure. His would shake as it got close to the stop.

If I'm at speed it's ok kinda shaky but not bad. But as I come to a stop it gets tight and doesn't shake, and when I'm stopped its hard to even get any play in it.

Is everything else working ok? Maybe belt slip? It's really hard to imagine what could have happened to your power steering. Especially since you already tried a new pump. Are there any leaks? I'm pretty sure you would have noticed that and mentioned it... but I'll ask anyways .

Nope no leaks or belt slips. Yeah it's so crazy everything else works great. I've been trying to find a diagram of the whole system which isn't that big but I wanna see where the hoses and stuff go.

Are you sure your headers aren't in the way of your steering knuckle?

Yeah there's a bit a room there. This is driving me nuts I can't figure it out. Might have to take it in and have the dealership look at it.

I feel like it would have to have a LOT of air in it to not work at all. Check the simple stuff again... There's nothing complicated to check!

You could make sure there is nothing in the way to bind the steering rack too.

I dunno solomon. I'm out of ideas. Litle is out doing stuff this weekend i think. We'll just have to hope some fresh ideas come in when people check back in.
