Are our motor mounts oil/liquid filled?
Sorry for my lack of searching if its been discussed. I'm confined to my phone for a few days and it makes the search function a PITA.
Curious if they are sealed with some type of oil in them. It's looking like of they are, than I broke one. If not, I've got some more searching to do to try and find the source. |

That being said. Anyone have any reccomendations on a set of solids that don't out off a lot of noise/vibration? The pfadts come to mind as a good choice.

Pfadts or Torque Solutions clone on the cheap. I haven't seen any others.

Silicone filled. They won't stand much flexing. I would go with the Pfadt mounts.

And Pfadts are NOT solid. I have no idea why people keep saying that, even their vendors for god sakes.

I just need something that will do better than the stock ones did. Not surprised it finally quit on me with the power numbers. I'll take a close look at my options tomorrow and get something picked up.

I have the Pfadt mounts and they are not solid as Synner pointed out. However they are rather stiff but they'll break-in after about a month if you give them a chance. A couple of mods greatly improved the NVH issue they created. I got a 1-piece carbon fiber driveshaft from DSS which eliminated the vibration and rattle in the stickshift after I got the Pfadt engine mounts. I also changed my plugs (as per Ted Jannetty's recommendation) to AC Delco 41-104 plugs and they smoothed out the idle to the point where rattles and vibrations I had before completely disappeared.
My car is N/A and those two mods plus a Jannetty tune pretty much took care of the NVH issues created by a cam and the Pfadt mounts. The only time I feel anything unusual is if the car is idling with the a/c on, otherwise I don't even notice it anymore.

The Pfadt Engine mounds are very nice. They are what we run on our JDP Camaro. Another good option are the Prothane mounts. Our shop manager uses them and really likes them as well. Another option that I just found out about are the Granatelli Engine mounts. We haven't had a chance to try them yet, but they seem nice.
Granatelli Part # 500044 Pfadt Part # 1420109 Prothane Part # 7-518 Feel free to call, PM or email me anytime with questions. Best regards, Tyler 888-308-6007 |
