After owning it awhile-my thoughts

I ordered the car October 13, the first day it could be ordered. It arrived June 11. 1SS, cyber gray, L99. 3 options. Automatic, stripes, and floor mats.
I had a lot of time to think about the car. Many things were bantered back and forth on this forum. There was a time I got impatient and almost cancelled it.
The day it arrived I went down to see it and it was filthy. Obviously it had been through some rain and such. I was allowed to back it over to the outside wash of the dealership and wash it myself. The next afternoon my son and I put the stripes on, (black).
I prepped the car myself taking all the stickers, plastic, etc off and saving all the paperwork I thought might be important in the future. No fluid check, tire pressure check, so on, was done, just straight delivery.
The dealer sold me the car at MSRP and I took it home to finish a thorough cleaning, waxing, and detailing.
I have found the paint to be perfect, the interior fit and finish the same. All fluids were fine and one tire was a pound off.
The ride, comfort, power, and handling to me is superb. Much better than Mustangs I have owned.
I consider myself fortunate as I have read of some problems others have had.
To those who anticipate theirs arriving or who have considered ordering one, I am happy to be a cheerleader for the car. I am a very proud owner.
The side benefits are you get to be a salesman for the car because everyone has questions and comments.

I'll agree with you 100% Mine (Rally Yellow) has the best paint and sheet metal I've ever had on a car. Can't find any faults with the assembly, and it was worth the wait. Got MSRP
It was also really clean when truck pulled up..I don't anticipate ANY problems!!!
Congratulations on yor SS!!!!

Every time someone asks me how i like my car i debate telling them its a terrible car so they don't think about getting one, but i can't bring myself to say anything negative about it.

I havent owned a Camaro for 20 years (this is my 4th one). Have had 4 door "practical vehicles" while raising a couple of kids. Although I have been axiously waiting for this car (8 months) and I havent had a "fun car" for a long time this is one hell of a car. I have had my 1SS for 3 1/2 weeks now, got 1,425 miles on it and have driven it about every night after work and have taken several trips on the weekends. My neighbors are starting to make fun of me for washing and keeping it clean on a weekly basis. I havent had any problems with it so far and have not found any flaws on it anywhere. I think GM hit a home run on this car.

just a quick story i have had my car for 9 days now and i love it.

went to my brothers for a 4th of july party saturday and he has always owned fords for some reason only one in my family that does. so the guy he always buys his cars from is there and i pull in with the IOM 2SS/RS and the minute i get out of my car the guy comes up to me and says why didnt you buy a mustang gt. and i said why would i buy that kind of piece of crap. i said i would smoke a mustang gt. so he kept breaking my balls about my camaro over and over for a couple hours. so as i am walking over to take my 14 year old niece to take her for a ride mr mustang comes over and starts taking pictures of the best car on the streets today. and i said why are you taking so many pictures if my car is junk. so i was texting trm001 aka trent and waldos owner and he says thats the only way a mustang owner would ever see the front end of a camaro is when its standing still.

Hey Y'all and Larietrope in particular. I have a 1SS on order and I am very curious about what you thought of the ride and the way the car handles freeway expansion joints, etc.

I rented the Camaro V-6 from AVIS for a week and was blown away with the great power, ride and worksmanship. But they tell me the SS has a beefier suspension so I wondered what you owners thought of the ability of the car to cruise in comfort. Some testers said it rode rought. I don't believe it. I test drove a 350Z a few years back and it was complelety awful. The road noise and the way it beat you up on the slightest bumps struck me as a stupid way to travel. The 370Z was completely different. The Mustang is very competent. The Camaro V-6 was absolutely stellar -- better than my RX-8.
