Manually activated backup cam - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

So was wondering if anyone knows of a way to manually turn on the backup camera in a 2012? Seems like there would be a switch that is hit when you put in in reverse that you could just jack into and install another remote switch, but maybe its all electronic. You know just thought it would be cool to see whats back there while I'm driving down the road. Can't really think of a good reason why....get the lic on someone tailgating you??....but is sounds cool! Thanks guys!!!

All you need to do is add power on for the camera to come on, but it will time out in 2 min and lock you out if you go over that.

So a momentary switch with power would turn it on for 2 min and then it would auto off? Or you need to leave power on manually but only for 2min? Should be easy to rig. Wonder if there is an easy way to patch in? Anyone seen wiring diagrams for it? Thanks!!
