Undecided on Ground Effects - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

So I picked up my car last week, and got a call from the dealer yesterday sayin my ground effects are in. Now I def don't like them black (esp with the orange) so I would have them painted, and I aint crazy about the rectangle exhaust ports at all. Anybody else feel the same way? I feel it makes the car look too "ricey". Thinkin about puttin em up for auction, or just sayin what the hell and havin them painted orange. Anyone got any pics of the rear ground effects from a distance?

I didn't get the Ground Effects because of the way they cut them around the exhausts, and because of the price hike for having them painted. The rectangular shape of the rear is hideous IMO.

How much did your dealer say to paint the kit? I didn't order my car, got lucky and found one on the lot that someone else ordered and backed out on, so that's the reason I paid for the kit.

I'd say hold on to them for a while because you never know when an idea may strike or an aftermarket part may come in that can be added to them which may make the Camaro look 'vedy nice'. Since you already have 'em you never know you just might change your mind and especially since they are in backorder right now.

I wasn't feeling the ground effects either. I passed on them. I typically like ground effects on a sports car or race car, but the Camaro seems to be cooler without them IMHO.

Thanks for the replys. Does anyone have the ground effects on their camaro, or know if the chrome exhaust bezels can be painted black??

I think the GFX look great when painted. Not so much when unpainted.

The trapezoidal exhaust openings, to me, look far and away more fitting than the standard round ones. Look at the shape of the tail lights. As well as all the angular lines on the Camaro. The trapezoids mirror the shape of the taillights.

the number one thng is the square cut out and the round exhaust pipe/tip. They should have made them circular or made the exhaust tip square, thats why i mainly dont like it. Second off i think they are way overpriced for a two inch peice of plastic, whatever. I would have thought about it if they were 700-800 bucks

I agree the rear panel is ugly! It makes the car look way too fat in the AZZ

just got my car back today from dealer. i got the blk 21s put on and my ground efxs painted blk to match car. im totaly in love with the look
