not sure if its normal....I noticed today I have the same issue....keeping the vents closed when not in use helps a little bit.

My car does the same thing so I think it's normal behavior.

In addition to closing vents, I have found pressing the recirculation button with the fan all the way off stops the hot air from blowing through the vents. Only annoyance is the recirculation button doesn't stay engaged across engine starts so you have to press it in everytime you start the car.

I'm considering insulating the intake box where the cabin filter is .I think its due to the fire wall getting so hot.

Nope, already tried that 6 monthes ago it blows hot air.
Put on recirculate as others have posted to avoid a/c compressor draw.

I posted about this over a year ago. It isn't cool, literally, because I always leave the vent on in my cars and the vent blows air that is hotter than ambient temp even when it is cool outside. I had to leave the vent off or run the AC. Apparently, it's normal for the 5th gen Camaro.

I got a little condensation dripping down from left rear of glove box area... what does that mean? AC was on full blast... not sure how condensation gets inside though.

Hiccup.

Same thing here, thanks for the advice about pressing recirc with the fan off. Damn hot air on a cool day on vent sucks.

I think you are on to something, because it isn't hot air instantly, its like something has to heat up over time, like 10 or 15 min, then the air gets hot.

its normal on all Camaros and f-bodies at least since the 3rd gens on up. ive owned about 5 Camaros since the '82 came out and every single one did it. the 3rd gens even had little vents on the console that seeped loads of hot air stock and even more after headers got put on.

Even my 2010 SS did that. I also press the recirculation button to prevent the airflow.
