2010 camaro 2SS exhaust question
I have a 2010 camaro 2SS that I added intake and American racing headers and cat-back exhaust. I want the exhaust to have more of a "mean" muscle sound to it. Not that happy with sound from American Racing exhaust. Thinking of adding the Borla ATAK exhaust. Can I just buy the Axle-back version since I already have a cat-back installed? Is this a good exhaust and can it be done without any special modifications? Thanks.

Ehhh why not sell the catback and buy a Corsa if you want a meaner exhaust sound. IMHO you'll be hacking up a system. Just my .2

I wouldn't add an axleback to a catback either.....as it stands right now you can sell that ARH catback and recoupe some cash. Probably enough to buy a more aggressive catback. If you want something rocking loud with headers look into MBRP or Stainless Works retro chambered or S-tube systems. The M6 Corsa system is pretty aggressive too with headers.

I am not 100% certain if the ARH system follows the stock routing closely enough to be able to pull that off. Litle88's suggestion to sell the cat back and replace it is probably the safest bet. Also, if a mean deep muscle car sound is what you are after then the ATAK is probably not what you want. The tone is not particularly deep.

Thanks for all the input. So am I able to at least keep the headers and just replace the cat-back? I don't have the funds to completely redo it all.

So is Corsa the best brand to go with? I was looking them up. Is the difference between 3.5 and 4 inch tips only for looks?

Corsa is a good brand but there are plenty to choose from. Hit YouTube and look for something that has the sound you are looking for. Tip size is just about looks.

I'd get the bigger tip. I installed a Corsa catback on my cousins car last year and this year done headers. The thing sounds PISSED @ WOT!! But quiet at idle. Here are some vids.

Having a hard time making a decision for cat back exhaust between Corsa, flowmaster American thunder and SLP loudmouth 2. Anyone have any reasons for or against. They all seem to sound good on YouTube videos. Looking for a mean muscle sound. Have heard the quality of stainless steel pipes on flowmaster aren't as good as corsa. Any reasoning would be helpful. Thanks

I have LT Headers and the Loudmouth 2's and my car has more of a raspy sound than the deep sound I think you are looking for.

I had the loudmouth 1 on my magnum and it was very raspy. Probably too loud. If you scroll down a little more in this section apex posted up a compilation of exhaust sounds. It's pretty easy to find a few you tubes of any setup you want.
