SS MPG Sensitivity
I don't abuse my SS. But I don't spare the throttle when called for. After all, this is why I paid the $ for the SS.
I have noticed that the mpg doesn't seem to change much, whether I have been driving more gently or having some fun. Has this been others' observation? |

No. I can squeeze 24 or so on a interstate trip, or be praying for 15 when having fun. That's a pretty big gap.

Mine currently reads 11.9 MPG @ 28 MPH average. I need to drive faster. LOL.
The system takes an overall average for your MPG. If you reset it, it'll usually be more responsive to changing based upon recent driving behaviors. If it hasn't been reset for a long time, it isn't as responsive.

For me my SS is a rather constant, 14/26 no matter how I drive it. My ZL1 on the other hand is different, 13/19 and if I play it drops to 9 ... Gotta love it !!!

Long term average per DIC is 17.2-17.4 no matter how I drive. That is expected/acceptable to me. I rarely drive on the highway although my commute has some 65 mph sections in between lights.
I think you will only see any significant change if constant highway driving or if you short shift (1-4 or otherwise shift at very low rpms). |

I average 12-13, if I'm not driving in traffic I'm out hammering the throttle, can't say I really care anymore though. Smiles are more important than miles.

Mine is 20.9. I've reset it twice and it's always around 21. I am really impressed that an LS3 gets better mileage than my 4 cylinder pickup. Almost twice as much.

The mileage of the SS is impressive considering the horsepower. I get 24/25 MPG highway (6th gear at 70 MPH) and 16/17 city. 17 in the city is hard to squeeze though. I have to keep it under 2500 RPM on every shift for an entire tank, which is difficult.

I don't get how some you guys get these lofty figures. With properly inflated tires, on Shell V-Power, I can't touch 14 mpgs. It always levels off to 13.9 by the end of a tank.
