Private offer with GMPP Pricing

So Friday night I was at the dealer attempting to negotiate a price on a 2013 Camaro. I knew going in that I had a private offer and as I understood it, this private offer is just like cash. You negotiate the lowest possible price and then hand them the private offer and they should honor it right? Wrong, in this case the dealer told me that because I was getting GM Preferred Pricing, I was not able to use my private offer. On top of that, they wouldn't even give me a $ figure for my trade (granted it's an old car (1996) but it is still in good shape) so I walked

My question is, has anyone used the private offer when they got GM Preferred Pricing?

Thanks.

I am pretty sure that the private offer is able to stack with the GMPP. It might not stack with other offers like the USAA $750 offer but GMPP is just a no haggle price that the dealership offers if you belong to a qualified organization that entitles you to it. (Costco has one USAA insurance has one etc) The private offer you sign over to the dealership when you purchase it and Chevrolet reimburses the dealership that sold you the car. It should spend just like cash. If anyone knows differently please let us know!!

I'm almost positive that private offer is basically cash. Granted the dealer has to get reimbursed from gm, they should have homered it. Find another dealer.

Is ur gmpp from the gm supplier discount?

If so then some offers dont combine with the program...

If dealer is giving u the pricing on his own then it is his call....

The private offer is "cash". The dealer gets that money from GM/Chevrolet.

And I used the private offer on top of Supplier Pricing with my dealer.

It's possible they don't know how it works. But as they wouldn't put a price on your car, I would have walked anyway. Get a trade in value before you even start talking numbers.

Private offers are compatible with GMS, and I know this to be true cause I chatted online with Chevrolet.com rep and he researched it and told me it was. Plus I used a private offer when I purchased my 2013 Camaro 1LE.

Shop another dealer and don't use your GMPP. Most of the time you can negotiate a better price than GMPP anyways. The offer from GM should act as cash.
