Would You Trade A Pontiac G8 for a 2014 Camaro SS?
So, long story short, I'm thinking of getting a 2014 SS with the 1LE package. Problem is I love my G8 too much lol. It was my first new car, mechanically needs nothing, only has 44,000 miles and its a 2008. I'd love to keep it but financially I can't buy a new Camaro and keep the G8, it's one or the other.
Below are a couple pictures so you don't think its a clunker or beat up. Just torn because I love my car, it's rare, everyone loves it anywhere I go, but I miss a 6 speed, 2 door coupe, muscle car, and the amount of aftermarket parts available. Yes, I see Camaro's every day all over the place, but they are still awesome cars. I used to have a 1998. So let me know your thoughts. Try not to be too biased lol I know it's a Camaro forum ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

For me there is no comparison, Camaro hands down. And I'm a recent convert, just got mine a few weeks ago, and its the only everyday car I plan to ever own again. I love it. I may own other cars, an SUV, if I have the cash a Lamborghini or something, but for an everyday car, this is it for me until I die.

Form versus function, my friend. Do you NEED four doors? The G8 is a sweet ride. Will you be needing a sedan type ride anytime soon (family?) You can SC it and all but if it's just sentimental reasons to keep the G8, go for the Camaro.

If you love the G8 as much as you say you do i would just keep it. I would wait, save up and when ready buy the Camaro. Whether that's a 14', 15' or 6th gen. Camaro. I think if you trade or sell the G8 to get the Camaro you will regret selling it because you loved it and it was a really good car to you with minimal issues. Nothing like having a 4 door especially if you have kids. The back seat of the Camaro is pretty much useless. lol Good luck to what every you buy.

I love the G8! But I'd much rather have my SS unless I needed 4 doors. Luckily my SS isnt a daily driver so its not much of an issue but if it was, I'd have the G8. I have 7 yr old twins so the 4 doors is nice!

Keep it! You like it, it's trouble free, and it's probably as quick as an SS.

I would keep it. If you were to miss it that much that you wanted another G8 again, who knows if you would find one in this condition with similar mileage. Its not like they will be produced again either.

Unless you need 4 doors as someone mentioned above, I would get the Camaro hands down. Would be an easy decision for me.

Keep it and save up for a camaro and have both! It may take a while but it would be so sweet!
