Unhappy Windshield washer issue

I have a '13 1LE 1SS RS that has 9k miles. I've had no problems at all with the car until it rained the other day and I used the wipers. It's pretty arid down here, so I haven't needed to use the wipers much for the ten months that I've owned the car.

The other day it rained heavily on my way to work. So hard that I clicked it up to the fast wiper speed for the first time ever. To my surprise, the washer started spraying solution onto my windshield! I thought perhaps it was a fluke, so I tried it again after the rain, and it does it every time you use the high speed setting on the wipers.

I couldn't find this issue using search, but has anyone seen this before? I imagine that something in the switch mechanism is crossed up somehow. I just hate to lose the car at the dealership! Do they provide a loaner typically at the dealership? This is my DD and I have to get to work!

Thanks for any help!

Tara

If they need to keep your car, they will provide you a loaner.

I have seen this many many times on the Traverse/Acadia/Enclave models, 99% of the time, the vehicle required replacement of the windshield washer/wiper switch lever assembly. The odd one required a BCM and programming. No big deal, it's under warranty and it will get fixed. Make sure to inspect the interior and under hood area of the vehicle once it repaired to make sure all components were reinstalled properly and none are damaged.

Hello Tara,

Sincere apologies to hear about your windshield wiper concern. As stated, if you are within warranty (which it seems you are) then the dealer will typically provide a loaner vehicle if the vehicle needs to remain the dealer throughout the diagnosis. If you'd like me to open a case for you, feel free to send me a private message.

Kindly,

William R.

Thanks William R., I'm not sure yet when I'll have time, but it'll get there.

Especially if you go to Auto Nation, aka Champion. When they replaced my HUD I had to go back three times due to finding bolts on the floor or them actually falling on my feet while driving. Plus they do not clean the interior after the install. In fact I would consider using the other local dealer. I did not have good luck with them tho with the wife's car.. We' re kinda SOL with dealers.
