Pay Sticker?

I know it's been brought up before, but I'm looking at buying a 2014 2SS/RS 1LE. Dealers aren't wanting to come off MSRP.
I'm a cash buyer so I don't know if that hurts me since they won't make money on finance charges or if dealers don't haggle anymore on new cars?

What's your experience if you've bought a new car recently?

You may have to travel to get something and drive it back. Just keep looking further and further out. Cash money talks.

Get a cashiers check for what you want to spend.

Write it to yourself and the dealer that way if the dealer doenst want to move you can go and deposit it and do it again at another dealer when you want.

a cashiers check with their name on it is showing you are serous about purchasing it.

I feel the same way, who pays sticker?!?!
But they let me walk, lol!

I like the Cashier check idea also.

Anyone know of a Dealer in the St.Louis area willing to negotiate?

I was always of the opinion that the best way to negotiate and then purchase a new car was to be a "cash" buyer...have cash or financing already in place, walk in, and say "Give me your best cash price". In today's car market, however, dealers make a good return on in house financing so announcing that this is off the table can hurt your bargaining power. Most articles I've read lately say don't discuss where the money is coming from until after the price of the car has been finalized. Keeping the possibility of additional profits through financing may loosen up the negotiations with the dealer somewhat.

Haggle price first. Then suprise them with the no financing. Nothing says you have to disclose that first.

I am with JK on this.

I would be upfront and honest.

Make your offer, and tell them you will finance howwver they would like to help them make a abuck.

Once the deal is done, pay car off.

Pay sticker...... NEVER. Be willing to travel and be willing to walk away from a deal.

Your disadvantage is its a 2014.... but it is NOT a rare car, you can order one tomorrow.

Call Becky see what she can do.

Yeah, I think it will depend on the dealer along with several other factors......go in at the end of the month....hopefully their sales haven't been that good, this may give you a little help. The problem I see for you is the model you are going after.....they might not get too many of them and want to make the most profit they can make (If you don't buy it someone else will-- mentality)
I've also heard that going outside of your local area may help you....especially if you have a big dealership near you......a lot of people around here go up to NJ or over to MD and seem to be able to get a better deal than in state....just a thought, but its relatively easy to get into a neighboring state quickly when you live here in the tiny state of DE.

A car salesman is always looking for the next sucker. Keep that in mind. If you can wait a month or two even and you are willing to put minimal effort into searching the internet for your car then you will find a deal.

My best advice, never be afraid to flat give a sales manager the finger during negotiations, trust me on this one.

Never pay sticker. I walked out on my dealer twice because he wouldn't come off sticker. Walked out a third time because he insulted me by coming off $500. Left it alone for two weeks...salesman called and said let's try again. Two hours later, I had it for what I wanted it for!
