SWAP FRONT AND REAR TIRE?

So I have about 7,000 miles on my 1LE right now and was thinking.... Since both the front and rear tires are the same size, would it be smart or dumb to swap the front and rear tires since now the fronts have better tread? Has anyone done this? .....and yes I know the tires are directional, meaning the left tires have to stay on the left side and the right stay on the right.

Just curious... flame if you want lol, maybe its a dumb question

FYI, I'M TALKING ABOUT THE STOCK TIRES

Probably dumb if you forget to swap the rear tire onto the front rim and vice-versa first . . . rear tire on rear wheel might not fit up front very well.

Otherwise I don't see any problems.

I don't see a problem either as long as they are meant for their respective sides. I'd be nervous though about the risk of the rims getting damaged if not done properly. My 2 cents.

Norm

yea, i'm just talking about taking the tires off the front rims and putting them on the back rims and vice-versa... no changing of the rims, just the tires

If they are the same size, why not. But sounds to me like you may just be buying 4 tires shortly instead of 2.

I was thinking the same thing... Seeing that I'm always slipping the rear wheels. It's like, every day I leave work and I'm getting this thing sideways... I hate myself afterward but it's too much fun to quit.

The rears are stretched pretty good. I'm wondering if that will have a negative effect when putting them on the skinnier front wheel.

After I rotated mine I took it to the road course and abused it as usual. No issue

Good to know! I will be doing the same thing and only buying 2 tires at a time. I love these tires they are like glue in the corners.
