SLP Loudmouth Question

I'm a little cheap-o at times, so I was wondering something. Could I just purchase the LoudMouth I resonator and have a muffler shop chop my muffler off and just run that through it. Or is the resonator built to where it sounds like there is not muffler? So I could just have the muffler removed?

love your car, and well as far as i know and have been told the resonator is to give your car that meaner sound and rumble since sometimes exhaust makes it sound a little raspy.

Thanks man. I'm just wondering if I should:

A: Delete the Muffler until I buy the whole $400 system

B: Buy the $80 Resonator and have it installed

C: Wait and buy the system

I'm about to replace the stock paper speakers and change the plugs and stuff so that's where current funds are going on the car.

All this depends on what you really are trying to accomplish AND!!!! how much you are willing to spend. You have to pay to play lol.

I would HIGHLY recommend some long tube headers which will not only add hp but make your exhaust sound 200% better as stock manifolds sound like blah. You can find them cheap on ebay or on forums used.

with that said if or if your not intrested I would eliminate A and B!!! a $30 cut out will give you the same sound. if you keep your stock exhaust with manifolds. Also SLP LM1 does not eliminate rasp as that is what the exhaust is known for. That resonator has close to no restriction and is a highly free flowing.

I would (C) wait and buy the whole system PLUS D!!!!! buy Long tubes.

Go on youtube and search for camaro or LS1 with Longtubes and Loudmouth I or just the Loudmouth I and that will give you an Idea of what it sounds like. Also do a search with stock exhaust and a cut-out and Long tube headers with a cut-out and stock exhaust which is a cheap route to take if money is an issue.

Either way trust me save and buy the LT's lol you wont regret it.

I would say wait and buy the system as a whole. Depending on the size of your pipes now, they may have to run new ones, which will cost you anyway. Nice SS tho man, post video when she's all piped up

The rest of us aren't supposed to either, but our states are kind enough to not enforce it.
