GL-4 vs GL-5 Manual Transmission
I changed my transmission fluid today in my V6 M6. I had used Mobil 1 LS 75w-90 gear oil as per viscosity in the owners manual. I changed it to Amsoil 75w-90 that is suppose to be made just for manual transmissions. I am hoping this will help with smoothing out gear changes and reducing high rpm gear grind issues. I noticed that the Amsoil is GL-4 grade oil and the owners manual recommends GL-5. It there a difference, will it hurt anything? Also is anyone else running this oil?

You'll be fine, Amsoil is good stuff.
