Upgrading stock system

Hi all,

I've looked around the forum, but would like to ask a few questions. What do I need to purchase, as far as wiring goes, in order to install a 10" sub and amp to power it. I would also like to replace the factory speakers to some of higher quality. I have the base factory stereo in the 2013 2LS model. I plan to buy the ******** enclosure, a sub to fit and go from there. Thanks in advance.

If you have the stock radio (Non Boston) you will need rca wires, Loc (to convert from speaker outputs to rca, amp (I would get a 5 channel and power your new speakers with it also), speakers, enclosure and sub I don't believe ******** makes a kit for the non Boston system but I could be wrong.

That's what I was afraid of. I was hoping they made one for non-BA systems.

Start off with a sub... amplifier, wire kit(wire size depends on how many amps the system draws and can be checked by looking at the fuses in the amplifier.. volts x amps = watts, so if the amplifier has 2 40amp fuses, you can determine the real output of the amp is about 1100 watts and would require #4 gauge wire) and a line out converter w/RCA cables to grab the audio signal from the rear deck speakers.... you'll be surprised how much better it is.. then move up from there.. The LS alternator is good for 175 amps, and will be ok to run a system around 1200 watts without the need for a backup battery or cap.. above that, you will need to think about more power to keep the components happy..

Yes, it is no big deal to grab the audio output at the rear speakers and tie (crimp or solder) a basic hi-lo level converter in. We do them all the time that way. For the remote
turn-on wire, we have found the easiest is to grab the accessory outlet in the rear of
the console (that is switched on with the ignition). Fairly simple install and several smaller sized (400-600w RMS sub amps) will even fit on the back wall behind the OEM trunk carpet.

I think they do make one for non-BA systems. Check their web site.

Nothing for the Non BA systems this is because the ******** harness plugs into the factory wiring to the external amp which the stock (non BA) system doesn't have.

Couldnt we buy the factory BA harness from the stock radio back to the amp and then FARK it?

By the way. A video from ******** said a new harness for Non-BA systems was now available on their site. I looked and did not find it.

Last time I asked about it Steve said they stopped selling it because it wasn't in high demand. Go figure.

hey....read the links and the attachment links included in the thread. I bought this from CMOREBASS and it works pretty good. You could probably build your own for around $100 bucks, but its pretty much plug and play. I'll even gift you the Kicker speaker wire to rca adapters since i have 2 laying around (just pay for shipping). I bought the ******** amp mounting board and everything sounds great and looks great. http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=315787
