Help with lights, please!
Hi, I've had my Camaro for just about a week and the mod bug has already caught me. I have to do something, but I need some info and help first!
Number one, my car is an RS, but the previous owner did something to the head lights so I don't have DLR running. My fog lights are about as bright as an old-school flash light with the battery about to die, and one is dim and the other is dimmer. Any ideas why? Someone told me it could be a wiring issue. I would like to have some brighter lights down there as I do most driving at night. Second, my car is non-US spec, so I only have 2 brake lights, in the middle. The outside lights are orange and only turn signals. Not cool... I want to have the US style. Any ideas what I would have to do (other than buy 2 outside red lights?) to change the lights to US style? Third (and last) I also have only one back up light, the other one is a fog light that doesn't ever turn on. How hard would it be to get them both to be reverse lights? Check out the pictures below to see what I am talking about. Thanks for any advice, info and help! |

For your fogs or DRL Change them to LEDs, They could just be the crappy bulbs that came with it.
For tail lightsI think you could get some technostalgias or afterburner lights and replace them. I noticed you have one red backup light too..

We have some good upgrades available, it all depends if you're looking for appearance or usable light output.
Send me an email: contact@diodedynamics.com and I will point you in the right direction Thanks! Nick C.

New info (if anyone can help with this), I took a look at the fog lights just now: My fogs are just bulbs, but there is a blue wire soldered into the bulb assembly that bypasses the connector, I couldn't find where it went to. If I just change the bulb to a LED to brighten it up what should I do with that bypassed wire? I suppose I will just rewire it the same way and check it out. I'm not worried about bulbs or LEDs, I live in China, they are pretty cheap, at least! |

are they fog lights (can be controlled with headlight switch), or are they daytime running lights? it sounds like they were DRLs and someone put a extra wire to flip them on at night with a switch. ![]() As for the reverse lights I have no clue. I would think you could run both from the passenger side harness. but if it is required to be one red and one white, I would leave it alone. |
