Road Tar
So, I live in Pennsylvania, and we're currently in the middle of the Road Work season (common joke around here is that there are three seasons in PA: Winter, Almost Winter and Road Work)
Anyway, I was driving my fourth gen the other day and wound up in the middle of some road work and now have little spots of tar all over the driver's side. I know people use everything from peanut butter to gasoline to try to get the stuff off, but I want to keep my paint as safe as possible, so what do/have you guys used, or what would you recommend? (I'll probably update this with pics in a few minutes)

I use Turtle Wax Bug and Tar remover to get rid of bugs and the tar.

Pretty much any of the suggestions will take off the tar. They will also remove whatever wax/paint protection you might have had on that spot. Don't forget to rewax/Zaino/whatever that location after you are done.
In my case, it would be tar remover, spot wash with soap & water, rinse, dry, Zaino. also everything I've read suggest when using any type of solvent like these....you shouldn't rub rub rub....simply blot til it breaks down then wipe off. I've heard gas and kerosene both work well. |

Yeah we live in Love Bug country and those things you do not want to leave on your paint over night. Also lots of road construction going on with new Super Walmart coming in.
