L99 Auto Trans Tune and Traction Control

If a tune were done to the L99 auto that only changes the shift points, would the traction control/competition mode still function? In other words, would re-flashing the computer delete the traction control/competition mode?

I've heard the new TCU's record and store peak torque. Anyone know if this is true or not?
