zl-1 drag radials NittoNT05r or mickey thompson 20's or 315 factory tire

another simple poll here. just finished off my nitto555r's so now im looking for a bit more stick. the question here is will a stock style tire in a 315 be comparable to a 305 drag radial or is there just no comparison there? my options are goto a 315 factory style tire or nitto nto5r or the mickey Thompson that fits our factory rim. these will be daily driven and raced so id like as much info as you can give like longevity, grip, wet driving etc

I have NT05R's on a 20" wheel and they hooked pretty good at 480rwhp (non ZL1) but after talking to others, the Mickey's are said to hook better and last longer

I'll be trying out the Nittos again this weekend at 550rwhp, so we'll see how they hook now.. I'll probably be going with Mickey's next either way.

I voted the 315 Factory Tires, but that's because I want you to be slower than me haha

My real answer would be the MT's and that is what I will be buying

I run the NT05Rs on my ZL1, 536whp but on 18 rims and they hook pretty good. That being said I intend to try the MTs when these are done as a lot of people at the track swear by the MTs. Not sure what works better on the street, Im guessing the Nittos.

MT's all the way you will not regret it.... Unless you have shallow pockets
I'm running MT's and I love em no comparison between OE and MT.

Maybe I missed it but are you drag racing or doing some road stuff too? I've heard great reviews on the BFG Rivals as well but not sure on the sizes available.

if you want a 20 inch tire, and you want to hook there is only ONE tire that works..

305 35 20 M/T..

Running MT on 18" wheels. Great traction and no issues driving to/from track.

I remember that the Livernois ZL1 that went 9.80 on slicks also went 10.10 on 20" M/T's. That's the tire that I would go with. It's alsmost identically sized to the factory Goodyear and it sticks better than a Nitto.
