Saw a couple of 135i's in person this weekend...
for the first time. I've complained about how expensive the car is, but upon seeing it in person and walking up then looking down at the sticker, I thought to myself, "$44k? Expensive. This is a really nice car". It didn't bother me that much, still pricey but looking at the car I see and feel the quality. Then I drove away and thought to myself, "I could get the same if not more power and a car with far more road presence with the '10 Camaro". Sure there will be more of them on the road but I'll feel slightly better that I'm spending less money on a brand new car and that I'll be comfortable with the maintenance costs over time (trust me, BMW's "free maintenance" is a gimmick to sell more cars)

Yea, 44K for, if i remember right, the turbo six cylinder at 300 hp (0-60 in 5 secs). Not that that great for that money if you ask me. You're paying for the BMW symbol.

I no doubt give the 135i props, plus its lighter than the 335i and so will have better performance. It is cool that there are already chips out by vishnu and such for the 335i so it will pretty much be a week after the car is out and people could potentially have better tunes. However, BWM's regardless of their price doesn't seem to reflect in how much time it ends up spending in the shop. I believe the Camaro will be a hit, especially if GMPP is fully behind it for aftermarket support. Can't wait to get FI from them!

It is a lot smaller than the 3 series, but barely lighter, and the price is just shy of the 3 series too. It had so much promise, but ultimately fell flat. Too bad.

Why bother making them if they're so close to the 3-series? They need to seek lower prices for a 1-series to make it competitive with a different price bracket.

They also need to bring the real 1 series over - the 3 and 5 door hatchbacks. They look way better and have far more useful space than the absurd and ugly coupe.

Exchange rates really don't help and I don't think they're looking to sell a lot of them here. It's more of novelty than an entry level BMW, that's for sure. They could shift 1 series coupe production to SC and give us lower prices but it seems they'd rather build their super lame "S.A.V.'s" here instead because they're what sells.
