ZL1 injectors for E85

does anybody know if the ZL1 injector will support conversion on the SS for E85? curious if they run a larger injector. looking at the cost in comparison to the ID850's.

Thanks

I believe they are 52 lb, that's what came with my SLP SC kit. It would be close NA, I wouldn't risk it. I ran FIC 60's NA but needed the ZL1 pump and ADM FPCM to make it work. Pop for the ID850's and you'll have plenty of room for the future but plan on FP upgrades at any rate. E85 requires over 30% more fuel.

On corn I'm running out of FP on the Livernois twin but I'm blown at 9 psi on ID850's. Waiting on the Squash returnless fuel system to be released.

awesome, thanks for the info. yeah, i plan on staying NA...just love the smell. they've got a decent price for the 850's right now which i want to jump on, but if i can get by with out spending more...then thats what i'd like to do. but i don't want to run the injectors above 80% either.

you think NA that i'll need a FP upgrade?

thanks Broke

I don't think the spray pattern is optimal when staying NA on those injectors.

I never ran the ID850's NA, had FIC 60's for awhile after being blown. Couldn't go more than 50% E until I upgraded the FP, tried the ZL1 pump, then added the ADM FPCM but still was short. Switched to the Livernois twin and 850's and just making it at 9psi.

The post 1 above this is more relevant to you being NA. You just won't know for sure until you log fuel pressure and IDC.

I actually have the flex fuel conversion but unfortunately I do not have any direct comparisons from gas to e85. One of these days I will have to do a comparison just for piece of mind.

LSA injectors spray at an angle, they will not work correctly in a regular intake.

Typical E85 gains are ~5% NA.

I question buying a zl1 only to lose your warranty by going e85, when you could have bought an ss and installed the appropriate mods for much less

For NA, the LSA/LS9 injectors will support full ethanol unless you have an extreme 600+ whp setup.
