Camaro likes the cold!!!

So this morning on the way home from work I decided to relieve some stress and stretch the Camaro out since it was nice and cool out(49°). So I turn off, drop it down to 1st and nail it at about 30mph. It spins a little, gets a lil sideways, then straightens out right before I catch second. Spins some more as I catch second, but I stay in it and continues to spin from 60-80 until I catch third!!!! I couldn't believe it! I was like...WTF??? That just did not happen? No way this stock, muff delete only NA Camaro just did that! So thinking there was sand in the road or the tires were just cold I stopped and tried it again.

Thinking I would spin badly, I only left around 2000 rpm. Well, the car bogged a little off the line, then took off! Again it spun at the top of 1st, caught second and this time only spun from 60-70 before I caught third! I know this doesn't necessarily prove anything and a lot of variables come into play, but this is the first time this car has EVER responded this way! And more importantly...NO WHEEL HOP! I love this car! Can't wait to get to the track and dyno!

Your running summer P-Zero, these things spin like crazy under 60 degrees. They need to run several miles (to heat up) till then begin to regain some grip.

With that said these car do like cooler air, but most of your spin was likely cold tires.

Yea I was thinking the same thing, but I had already driven about 15 miles before I turned off? Considering that and the fact that the motor had already warmed up...I wasn't expecting it, that's all! I don't even remember my Cobra spinning past 60, lol! Anyways, so glad to be back in something with some power!!!

You just kicked his legs out from underneath him telling him it was from the tires being cold and summer performance. Sad lol

The other day I was driving in around mid 40s degree weather and the back end broke loose in the middle of a turn and I wasn't even accelerating hard.

And for those that think the P-Zero's get loose, the GY F1's are even worse. Feels good though, lol. Can’t wait to burn them off and get some Michelin PSS on.

It's was 75 here yesterday afternoon and had no problem breaking them loose, the P-Zero's had more grip.

I'm with ya! These cars LOVE cold air (as do all high HP naturally aspirated engines). BIG difference from the hot summer air.

At 40*F I put down 30 feet of rubber shifting into second with the P-Zeros. They turn very hard

With the P Zeros, I have to be careful when I pull out quickly in traffic, a handful of times I did nothing but spin, and THAT sucks when you are trying to get out into traffic at an intersection!

Couple of weeks ago, mid 40's, took off quickly from a light, about 100 feet out, I stomped it, ass end was all over the place.... can't wait to replace these things.
