Angry Camaro losing traction in Syracuse, NY....

I have the 2011 2LT Camaro with 20" wheels.
The stock summer tires were a death trap, so I bought these all-seasons:

Continental Extreme Contact DSW Tires:
2 Front 245/45ZR20 103W XL
2 Rear 275/40ZR20 106W XL

Unfortunately, the car still lost all traction and it had to be towed home.
Tirerack.com does not have any snow tires that that will fit.
So where can I buy snow tires that will fit my Camaro?

Well, even though the Continental is a great "ALL SEASON" tires it is just that all seasons. In your area you probably need snow tires like Firestone Blizzak designed for driving in snow or similar. I had Blizzaks years ago when I was station in South Dakota and they worked great never had a problem getting stuck and my car was a rear rear drive cars well. Now, these are not miracle tires, nothing will help in ice except chains but those will work better in snow than your Continentals.

With all due respect you have the wrong set up. Most all season will not work with a Camaro in harsh winter conditions. You need winter tires like blizzak then add a couple hundred pounds in the truck you will be golden. For your viewing pleasure

Tirerack.com only has all-season and summer tires for my Camaro.
Where can I buy snow/ice tires that will fit my car?

In general we have forgotten what makes RWD cars go in the snow. We've gotten so used to FWD cars we forgot what our granddies knew

Tall, thin snow tires. Real snow tires.

Here is a link for your sizes but they are spendy but cheaper then going into a ditch or hitting something. The 245's are running around $375 each. Maybe buying cheap 18 inch wheels with the Blizzaks will be cheaper.

I'll quote this as well just to beat it into the thread. I'm on 3 years now using winter tires and it goes better than my old FWD Pontiac G6 did with all seasons. I've seen so many people struggle with FWD cars that stink in the snow on all seasons and thats totally acceptable to everyone, but put winter tires on a modern vehicle with nearly a 50/50 weight balance, stabilitrack, and traction control and everyone chimes in that you're a moron and should just "buy a beater!"

Start in 2nd, use winters, and for the most part once the damn thing is moving a car is a car. 4 wheel drive is the same thing as a RWD when you need to stop.

I lived in Maryland for a bit near Ocean City a few years back. Got this fluke snow storm and watched people FREAK OUT and be stuck in our parking lot with SUVs. I worked from home and watched a lady for 10 minutes struggle to get her SUV out of the spot. Finally went out to help, got in, and pulled it straight out.

Moral of the story: if you know how to drive appropriately you can handle snow.

Yes they do... The Camaro will outperform most FWD cars in the snow if it has snow tires

I have these, been pretty satisfied. They are listed as like a "sport" winter tire, not sure what that means exactly. Some winter tires can feel a little mushy/floaty, these don't feel much different than my all seasons. Been satisfied so far
