That poor car. This is very unfortunate for the owners. I hope the dealership pays for a new one, or at least covers any gap the insurance company will not cover of the value, and pay the deductible for the owners. The kid that crashed it will surely have many, many bills to pay over the coming years.

Wonder if hand writing "Vehicle may not leave dealer premises" on the paperwork when dropping it off would be wise.

About ten years ago, my car (not a Camaro-- a Dodge that was fully paid for but had high mileage) was totaled at the shop.
It was up on the hydraulic lift when the front arm of the lift broke. The car was dropped about 6 feet onto cement (well, the front passenger side was dropped- the rest was still on the lift). Big gash through the metal down the side, as well as bent frame and lots of other damage. Shop's insurance paid me book value on the car, which was nowhere near enough money to buy a replacement.
The insurance adjuster told me he'd only seen it happen twice in his career-- and the other time it was a Corvette.
Luckily, my mechanic wasn't under the car at the time.

That's a little different. Accidents happen and they suck. In no way was what happened to that ZL1 an accident.

Sorry it happened to you though and yes, glad no one was under the car when it happened.

I remember seeing the owner posting his thread on here. I was in shock to see this was actually true!

Insurance Companies don't get rich by writing a bunch of checks.

The owner of that car is a member here. Obviously this Dealership has failed to follow basic rules of customer service and respect of ones property. I propose that all of us who are on the east coast drive our Camaros up to that dealership in a show of solidarity to another Camaro owner . Once at the dealership we can we can march with signs and protest this dealership until they make it right with the customer in question.
