Pulling a Tune File on HPtuners?

I just went in for a dyno tune that I won, and they would not give me the tune file. So I was wondering if there was a way to pull the tune file and see what all they did?

Hook up your HP Tuner and down load the tune. Then do a file compare in the editor.

Yep that should read the current tune.

Then if you have your old tune you can do a compare file

When you read your current tune.... it saves it to to your computer. Then you can load either tune or modify either tune.

Like stated above, go to the top of your HP Tuners screen and either just click on the green prom to the right the C/F, or at the top of the screen is FLASH. Click on that and drop down to read entire and it will take about 6-7 minutes to read.

I like to save the stock tune as original configurations, and any modification tunes, the date and A,B,C.

So save the current tune as example DynoTune 01/11/2014

How was your before and after performance?
Phil

Well that's why I want up see what was up with their tune. I went to a dyno day they had back in September and made 457/413, then yesterday they baselined it at 420/398 and when the tune was done it's at 440/405!? So I'm curious as to the huge difference.

For consistence, Id stick with the tuning day baseline and end result numbers since weather and everything was on the same day and dyno.

We were at 480 RWHP with bolt ons on the Kaotik cam. Its a big cam, but tuned and drove really nice with 3.91 gears.

Did the car feel stronger after the tune? If so, Don't worry about the numbers.

Pulling a Tune File on HPtuners?

It feels about the same. But I really haven't had a chance to drive it hard and do some data logging since I've have some bad weather up here.
Also I'm at 6,388 ft. above sea level so I'm sure that's why the difference in numbers. But I was still hoping to be about 460/420-430. Lol

If they wouldn't give you the file, do you think they may have locked it. If they are not locking then there is no reason not to give it to you.

That is definitely a big difference in the HP numbers.. I'll tell everyone and share my files no problem I do not step on spark on these 10.8:1 motors, especially with consistency of pump gas octane. So they may have stepped on the timing a bit more, leaned it out from where we were. Take a read of it, and look it over in the comparison. I'd be glad to even let you know the differences shoot me a text .

Big difference in the two baseline numbers from Sept on 457 to 420 now. What dyno and weather conditions? You'll see some swing in HP for NA cars based on weather conditions, but that is a huge swing. Now a FI car, that you can see a big swing in boost loves cold.

Onsite dyno tuning definitely better than remote tuning and I'll say it even though it was my remote tune haha.

No it wasn't locked I was able to pull it. I'm not sure why they didn't want to give it to me.

Yeah i was going to send you an email with the tune they did and a log, just so you could check it out. But I haven't had good enough weather to get a good log. I wasn't to worried about what they did because I was planning on sending it to you just to see what you thought about it, but then i saw the numbers and i was really concerned lol

But it was done on a DynoJet 424xLC2 to be exact lol
Weather on Friday was 61.02*F, 25.85 in-Hg, and 27% humidity SAE: 1.14
Weather in Sept. was 80.04*F, 25.90 in-Hg, 9% Humidity SAE: 1.16
