Catchcan Advice for my 2014 2LT

I've been looking into getting a catch can, now that I replaced my OEM air intake with a K&N Typhoon.

I am confused about what I should get (best product for money spent, and not getting overcharged for what would be considered an inconsequential gain.

What would you guys recommend for a good catch can for the LFX, I figure it would be a good investment on a vehicle I plan to drive 8 years.

I am very happy with my Elite Engineering can. Looks good and super easy to empty.

You can't go wrong with the Elite or the Apex can, both can be purchased from Apex Chase here on the site. I'm sure if you have any questions at all about either Chase or anyone else over at Apex would be more than happy to help you out.

I personally have the Elite can and it has been great. It's draining method is the main reason why I decided to go with it.

I originally went with Elite for draining method. Glad I did, RX was on a 3-6 month wait list at the time.
No regrets, I am happy with Elite.
My Parts, all from Chase at Apex. THANK YOU Chase.
Now, if you only sold the 4 chan amp I want. lol

So looks like I'll be going Elite, due to all the recommendations.

What are all the parts I will need aside from the obvious. Bit new to this, and appreciate all the advice.

Also, it comes with everything you need. I purchased a hose with metal braids jut for looks. It comes with the catch can, the fittings and the hose and screws and the mount

Could you guys explain this to me, because I am rather confused about options that are offered.

-Catch Can Bracket Type
-Hose Barb Fittings
-Number of Exit Ports
-Check Valve Option

The bracket is specific to the car model. The v6 models (your 2LT) have a different bracket than the SS models.

The basic fittings/hoses are fine. You can buy the upgraded ones if you want that look.

For the basic LFX engine you want the model with two ports (input & output). If you install a supercharger then you'd want the check valve and the model with three ports.

In this LFX section there are several posts / pics of Elite catch can installation.

I bought a new PCV hose from Chevrolet and just used the ends off of it to install my Elite catch can. Otherwise you have to cut the existing hose. I like being able to easily return to a stock setup if needed.

We recommend and use the Elite Engineering catch cans on all of our shop projects and personal cars. They are easy and convenient to drain and come with complete hardware and instructions.

Here is an EXCELLENT how-to video for installing an Elite Engineering catch can on an LFX by our good friend Joe from NY5THGEN!

Just installed my Elite catch can with the help of Joe's video on Youtube (
) , and at the same time installed my ported and polished throttle body from Apex - both very easy installs , took about 15 min each - too bad it is snowing - otherwise I would have gone for a ride !!
