First Camaro....Need help

I just bought a 2014 SS fully loaded. I have owned trucks in the past and done minor engine work, wheels, exhaust, the basics. I would really like to put some money in the Camaro and get the HP way up! I was hoping some of you could give me input on good places to start? Obviously I know exhaust, CAI, etc. but Im unfamiliar on the others.

All depends what you want! You can go heads and cam and get that nasty chop. OR you can go turbo or supercharged. You can also do a mixture of cam and the later.

I was thinking heads and cam to start. Im looking for an initial cost of about 1k then adding on every month or so. Im still trying to learn my way around the site but any suggestions on manufactures would be awesome! I just ordered the CAI intake system.

Headers back exhaust, a good CAI with a race scoop and a nice dyno tune. There are lots of guys on here making good power without going as far as cam/heads.

A good handful of supercharger kits are available as well.

Then of course, these cars handle pretty well so you could dump lots into suspension and chassis mods too!

With $1K to start you have already eaten in to half that with a CAI, scoop, and washer relocate. Not enough left for headers, but good to think of a catch can and designated cluth res in the meantime. As far as headers go there are a million threads on what brand, but as long as you get the 304 stainless mandrel bent you will be fine. All these topics have been beaten to death so some searching while you save money WILL give you all the answers you need.

Get a rotofab, haltech or even better an ADM race intake, long tube headers 1 7/8's and a catback of your choice and a tune. Are you and auto or manual?

I already purchased the intake so the 1K is in addition to that. Thanks for the info! Im still trying to work my way around the threads so I apologize for the duplicative effort.

OK, so you got the intake from CAI,

You will also want a Racing Scoop, and Washer Fluid Relocate kit,
from Apex or Jannetty

Then the other mods to think of are

Ported Throttle Body- Gives you better throttle response

Long Tube Headers- Better exhaust flow, and around 20-30 bolt on RWHP

Hi Flow Cats

Cat Back Exhaust- Lots of brands to choose depending on how you want it to sound. I personally have Magnaflow 3"

Underdrive Pulley

Cutouts- Adds around 7 RWHP but they sound SO GOOD, and are SO MUCH FUN

These are the bolt ons, easy mods you can pretty much do yourself with little experience. And do not forget Suspension mods- F/R Sway Bars, Lowering Springs, Bushings, Trailing Arms, End Links etc.

Now for the more involved mods- Better Heads, Cam, Super Charger or Turbo, Nitrous... The sky is the limit

Cool!

Yea stay away from the metal tube intakes, ADM is a one stop shop for your intake needs.

Depending on your budget get the TSP 1 7/8 headers or a set of kooks of the same size.

Catback

Tune it

Until you cam it the pulley is really not worth it at this point.

Awesome, congrats on the purchase! You'll like the CAI intake. From there my first round of mods would be to do a thermostat, headers, and a dyno tune. Then I would follow up with a cam, and/or go with some forced induction!

Depending on where you are in VA we may not be far from you. Let me know if you need help with parts, labor, tuning or suggestions! You can check out our build blogs here - Customer Build Blogs - to gather ideas for your own car.
