Stock Pirelli Tire Weight Savings

I know unsprung and rotational weight are very important performance factors, especially on our heavy camaros. Most of us, including myself are obsessed with weight savings...

DID YOU KNOW... OUR STOCK PIRELLI TIRES ARE MADE IN MEXICO OR BRAZIL and that they weigh 5-6 POUNDS MORE!!! THAN THE SAME PIRELLI's MADE IN GERMANY!!!!
The 245/45/20 and 275/40/20 from Germany are 25 and 29 pounds!!!
So for those who really want to SHED a lot from the wheel and tire combo, and run stock tires, then check out the german or italian made pirelli.
Yes they are $500 a tire... but you save 20 pounds total for an extra $800 and run a square setup.

Just thought I would shed some light on this.

They also have better dry grip than our stock crap Pirellis. I had a 295-35-20 Pirelli from a Mercedes on the back of my car and that had as much dry grip as my Yokohama AD08R in dry.

Sweet! I'm sold on them. The 458 italia has the pirelli we have but the italian version and it is one of the fastest track cars in the world.
