How is rear bowtie attached?

Is the rear bowtie stamped into the car or is it adheasive???

I heard that if you take it off there two holes underneath it....

Adhesive and there are two pins also so if you take it off theres going to be holes.

Exactly. Use a plastic spatula to remove it. This will ensure you do not damage the paint. Crefully work your way around the emblem - do not pry from one spot. The holes are there to ensure that the emblem goes on correctly. The holes are not large but are fairly spread out so in order to make it look right, I had to weld mine up in order to put the rear "SS" emblem from an Impala SS on my car.

I don't have a close up unfortunately but the SS emblem shown here is too small to cover both holes:
