If you have an Ipod touch or and Iphone get the Dynolicious application. 13 bucks and it tells you your 0-60,60 ft, 1/8 mile, 1000 ft, and 1/4 mile times aswell as MPH, G- force and rwhp. Don't trust it? Videos on youtube of people using it, this thing is accurate to withing 2 or so HUNDRETHS of a second compared to the drag strip timers, and the same for mph. Horsepower ratings? The video I watched they put a Mini on the dyno and it got 165.5 rwhp. On the street dynolicious it said it had 170, within 4.5 hp at the wheels. Not to shabby.

i heard that there is an application for the ipod that can detect if there are cop cars around and can even tell you how close they are to your location. Ever heard of that app? or is this a rumor?

I have that app now. It allows users to report where cops usually sit in your area as well. It's called: "Trapster.

Where do you put the phone when doing the runs ?

I got a K.A.T. Matrix 3-Axis Accellerometer, Battery run, No wires to hookup, I mount it to the radio display plastic W/the suction cups it comes with.
Was orig. $200. Got mine for under $30. W/ shipping.

It works GREAT!

You can buy a holder that plugs into your cig lighter. I found it at wal mart or canadian tire, prob lots of places in the US. This way the ipod wont move and affect the times. Or you can get a buddy to come a long and hold it firm on the dash or center council so it doesn't move

I dynoed a plane in the 1/4 mile with that application. I have no idea if it was working correctly but it read 11.0 at 150mph. Also did the Metro in DC and it said 22.0 at 47mph.

Fun application. Also, trapster definitely works but also picks up some cops that arent there and you end up driving slow a lot of places when you could be hauling ass.

I got that trapster app for my ipod touch and when I run it the map doesn't appear. The trapster.com logo just stays on the screen?? Any ideas?

How do you know people dont have private roads and or lots that are 1/4 mile? Plus there is nothing illegal about Trapster. It uses gps to alert you of redlight/speed cameras, common police radar hot spots and even current radar traps.

They are both legal applications. Its not like they are discussing crack pipes and how to make meth.

BTW they have a radar detector that uses GPS to alert you of the redlight/speed cameras too now. Its pretty sweet.
