How many people did NOT get built this week or last week - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

Just wondering how many people with a TPW of 7/13 or 7/20 have not been built yet. I know I am one of those people. Guess that is why it is a target production week.

So far no proof (vin) that my car has been produced. The spastic squirrel may not update until Monday or Tuesday because of GM's web site lockdown that happens every weekend.
I did see one produced last week same color as mine and going to MY dealership but it was an LT automatic, not an SS manual. Kinda scared me.

I was calling dealers to find a camaro I can buy on the lot without a $10,000 mark up because I want a car now (ordered mine victory red 2SS on 6-12-09 and still at 1100) and a dealer in Stockton, Ca told me the V8's were put on contraint due to a shortage of parts. Has anyone heard about this or is it false?

Most Camaro,s being built are V8's.

Back on topic, I hope so, now I want to land vin 30000!

My salesman told me the cars built early the beginning of the week usually get shipped out before those late from the previous week. I guess something like last weeks getting parked after shipping is over for the week, then new ones put in front of it, then taken away to get shipped.

So mine, which was finished Friday night (29144) may be shipped after yours!

But then again, thats the word from a car salesman, so who knows really.

I had a TPW of 7/20 but so far nothing. Was moved back to 3000 code.

All you guys need to ask your dealers about GM putting the V8's on constraint as of last week because they are building too many of them affecting their CAFE requirements.
According to our dealer, V6's were to be built at a much faster rate for awhile because of this.

what are CAFE requirements? I have never heard of the V8 being on constraint and some people built last week were V8's I'm sure
