Certificate, and 1500 miles?

I received my Cert in the mail yesterday for new ZL1 ownership. Man I was stoked, until...................I looked at the owner and it had my wifes name only. WTF!!!! We purchased the car together.

Now on to the second bit.

is it recommended to do a service at 1500 miles or are people just doing it?

I did one at 1,500 but there is nothing saying you have to. So if you took it to the dealership they would just look at you funny.

Look at this thread and see if you can't get another cert with your name on it: http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=307012

I did one @ 1500 as well. Just to be safe and make sure there was no obvious issues.

I did my first oil change at 800 mi. and all the fluids and oil again at 1450 mi. The miles after the first two summers when I put it in storage for the winter. Hope you and your wife enjoy your car.

my ZL1 had it done at 500miles and again at 2k,and twice more since the engine mods were done,at 4k but it sure was not at the dealer,I did not want one of there young kids that do the service on it taking it for a test drive,as that is normally part of the service to listen for sounds etc...or thats what they claim...
I took it to a friend who owns a tuner shop here in houston, where there were so many high hp cars no one was in need of their daily fix of speed plus mine was just a stock car to them,lol...
The car never left and had the same miles as it came in with....

A dumb kid was just fired down here because he got caught doing 130 on the freeway by a cop in a new make ready srt 6.4 Challenger...

most likely the reason her name came on it was because she was listed as the buyer and you as the co buyer...its the first person's name on the contract that normally gets it, even if its owned 50/50 in a marriage..
You might be able to get another, although they might have to ask the wife to send hers back,(joking)as they dont normally issues 2 per car...
good luck ...

On the oil change...yes I did one at 1500, then typically I'll do every 3500 afterwards. Used M1 5w-50 along with Mobile1 filter AND replaced the drain plug and washer (from GM). Also went online to document it in the GM system.

Thanks! I'll do an oil change soon for good measures, and rear end oil as well.. I'm at 2000. I can't wait to start modding. I just have to get one of my others back from paint first.

That's one thing I don't have to worry about, bought mine from a great dealership. (DeNooyers in Holland Mi) They don't mess with other peoples cars.
For some reason I got two certificates not long after a got my car.
