SS shut off and wouldn't start

So... My car just shut off on me saying "Engine power reduced." "Service stabilitrak." I ran through second gear and went to shift into third and it just shut off completely. I pulled over and turned the key, nothing happened. It didn't even try to turn over. Not even a click. Just silence. So I checked the oil, it looked fine. I checked to make sure nothing was leaking, no leaks. No funny smell. So I unplugged the battery and plugged it back in, turned the key and the car started no problem. No weird noises. No smoke. The car is running fine. The only thing I had to do was reprogram the windows. Lol. Has anyone else come across this? I'm kinda nervous. No check engine light.

I am unsure as to whether or not to bring it to the dealership as I have no confidence in them yet, I had traction control and stabilitrak shut off and I don't want them to flag it and void the warranty.

I'm really looking to see if anyone else has had this happen and what was your experience?

What makes you think that just by having the nanies off will get you in trouble .
Just take her to the dealer and tell them what happen , off course without the nanies portion of it
And just see what they have to say
PS , DO NOT LEAVE THE CAR THERE over night , stay by her side at all costs

It happen to me within two weeks of ownership , contacted the OnStar and was guide by them on what to do or expect to happen
In my case was a sensor that wasn't talking the same language to another sensor

you wont have a problem with warranty. if it would void it then you wouldnt have a button to turn it off. its electrical. probably loose battery cable. take it right to the dealer. wont cost you a dime. maybe even have it towed. buy the dealer. You have to call them and they will pick it up and give you a loner.

The dealer won't be able to do much for you unless you bring them the problem while it's happening. As for reduced engine power....a lot of things can cause that. Most of them having to do with a short of some kind. Was it wet or cold out?

Weird. Yeah I mean, I disconnected the battery and it started again, so I drove her home and it's working flawlessly now... Just don't know what to do.

45 degrees and it's been wet for a while. But I didn't run through any puddles when it happened.

The light and radio and everything stayed on. I checked the battery cables because I disconnected it and reconnected it to get it to start again and they were TIGHT. lol

I actually have a thread in the warranties section of C5... Title. '14 1LE thinks it's being stolen.
Go have the dealership test the keys. I had a key that was sending random signals to the car and it was doing all sorts of fun stuff. Locks would activate, trunk pops, alarm would go off then onstar thought it was being stolen and killed the car I guess cus it would t start....when I called them they said it was being stolen in my garage! Lol My neighbors were thrilled at 2am with the alarm going off and not being able to shut it off so onstar could look at the signal.

Happened to my 13 a week after picking it up, did a crazy rough idle before it does too. Was told to pull the batt, wait 5 min and it was good as new. like another said- it was a sensor that misread data and threw a code. No issues 25k miles later

Interesting. Good to know, but possibly problematic for someone who doesn't know how to troubleshoot.

Okay. So it just happened again. This time I was able to get it to start without disconnecting the battery. I brought it home and hooked it up to the computer and it says throttle body malfunction.

I had a weird cranking issue. Worked fine then I stopped for dinner, came out to crank it and it was giving me some message about "Parking Sensor" failure or error. Starting from park it would crank then immediately die. Wound up having to start from neutral and it worked fine and perfect ever since.

P1516 Throttle Actuator Control (TAC) Module Throttle Actuator Position Performance
P2101 Throttle Actuator Control Motor Circuit Range/Perforamance

These are the two codes that I received. I'm assuming that means something is wrong with the electronics in the throttle body.
