2012 V6 Suspension Steering Loose
Just upgraded to ss 20" wheels and now the suspension and steering are feeling loose. It kinda floats side to side over bumps and changing lanes. The car was aligned directly after the wheels were installed. It is not that I do not know how wider tires feel. I own a 1le as well. The v6 is my daily driver.
What is the best way to correct this feeling on the V6? |

could it be that going from 18s to 20s I need to have an ss alignment and not the v6 alignment?

Similar to this, I just installed the BMR 1" drop for my SS. Had it aligned the next day but sometimes the steering feels loose or I get the floating sensation going through turns/bumps. Is the sway bar to blame?

Radius arm inserts really sharpened up the steering for me. See here-
http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=365423 Also worn struts usually get "floaty" and would be worsened by heavier wheels and tires. |

Im getting the same feeling...but ive had my springs and sways and a bunch of other suspension parts already upgraded...so i had a feeling it may be the struts giving way...is there any way to test these without removing? I plan to upgrade them just wasnt in budget for awhile..lol

Leaking oil is always a dead give away. But the classic test is just to stand at each corner and push down and then let the spring rebound and repeat until you set up a good rocking motion.
Then stop. If the dampers are doing their job, the motion of the chasis should cease on the next rise.
