THIS VID SHOWS WHY YOU NEED A CATCH CAN, DRAINED AT 50 % OIL LIFE

This was the first time draining the can, I was glad to see the can catching the oil. Im glad I have one after seeing all that oil that could have been going back in the blower.

That oil looked clean too! I emptied mine after about 3000 miles and got about the same amount. Definitely glad I installed one on my ZL1!

That does look really clean! Mine is always much dirtier. Each time I empty my catch can it's a great reminder of why it's on there. Simply showing the contents to customers is enough to sell them on it. Thanks for the vid!

Best regards,

I drained the can while the engine was still warm, Is that the way it should look like whats in the cup. The oil was thin and the smell of it didn't smell burnt. Can anyone tell me by looking at vid, Does it look ok and can you describe or see anything wrong. I have seen other vids and some look like the oil is darker. I change the oil all the time and have 6500 miles on car, This was the first time draining the can and didn't know what to expect.. Thanks JOE

It doesn't matter if the oil you catch is clean or dirty, the whole point of it is catch the oil before it gets sent in to your Intake System!. The oil it catches is only going to be as clean or dirty as the regular oil you have running through your system at the time.

my catch can only catches drops but then my whole engine is different, the correct way to do this is to prevent the oil from getting into the breather hoses to begin with by proper baffling of the valve covers and so on.

Joe, Do you know of a reason why some oil is dark and some are clear, I know you run the same rx can. Not even a flake of anything, just thin clear oil.
